Little White LiesBook #1 The Girlfriends Series eBook Jodie Esch
Little White Lies is a debut book written by a fabulous author who has announced in the back of her book that she'll have more books in the Girlfriend's series coming out soon. Yesss!!I loved the story of Rachel who might be a little liar but is so doggone likable. She gets herself embroiled in a big mess and keeps covering up with her make-believe nonsense. Her parents, her school counselor and even her best friend are left in the dark as she stumbles along getting herself deeper into trouble. Soon the danger is apparent, and though she's frightened, Rachel also feels like there's no way to turn. I wonder how many teens today can relate?
The author. Ms. Esch, seems to be very perceptive of a young girl's way of thinking. Her well-written story is a must for anyone who has teenagers or grandkids. Heck, I'm a great-aunt and totally enjoyed it myself and will gift it to the kids in my family.

Little White LiesBook #1 The Girlfriends Series eBook Jodie Esch Reviews
All young people should read this book!! They believe that they're invincible and that bad things happen to other people. This could have turned out so much worse. I wish the author had continued until the man was caught.
I don't often read YA novels but Jody Esch's cautionary tale for teens about the dangers of on-line chatting is a quick and compelling read. The characters are sweet and believable and swiftly drew me into the story. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Esch.
I read Little White Lies in one evening. Teenager, Rachel, draws you completely into her make-believe world, full of angst and self-deception. When her on-line adventures get to be more than she can handle she turns to her BFF Steph. There's a surprise ending which I didn't see coming. The story is compelling and timely.
I totally enjoyed reading about Rachel, Steph and 'Lonely Guy.' When I was a kid, I would sometimes find myself telling little white lies that soon blossomed out of control. What's worse now is all the bad that can happen on Social Media! The author more than aptly captures both the voice and the essence of what it's like to be a modern teen. Loved the twists and turns in this story and will absolutely look for the next books in this tantilizing series.
A young teenage girl struggling to make sense of life finds herself entangled in her own web of lies and the terrifying reality of being stalked by an on-line predator. A great YA read. The story explores issues of blended families, zits, relationships and self-respect in a sensitive heartwarming way. Esche's wicked sense of humor keeps her story light and fun on the surface, but the weight of the heavier issues deliver a memorable punch. A real page turner.
An ageless tale, even if it is aimed at teenagers. No sex, gore, or aliens needed for a good story. Jodie kept me going, reading when I should have been taking care of other chores. I knew better than to stay up too late reading, but started right back on my , reading to make sure all was well with our two young ladies.
Not many can keep a reader intrigued without fantasy or gore, but Jodie always does a great job. This was the second book of hers I read, and I'm sure I'll buy more. This was number one in the series, but her stories don't need to be read in order. Very well done. Again.
A surprisingly great book that was hard to put down. I don't usually read young adult novels, but this was one of the better novels in this genre I've read in a long time! Rachel is a well crafted character, a teenager with all the geekiness and struggles many teens have. She is part of a blended family, with parents who love her, but she creates fantasies and lies for a life she imagines would be better. Rachel stumbles into an online chat room and she believes she's met the boyfriend of her dreams. Except what Rachel doesn't realize as she starts keeping secrets from her best friend, her big brother, the school counselor and her parents who are all trying to help her, is she's now walking a dangerous path. I highly recommend this book not only to teens, but to parents as well. This is a well-crafted story I thoroughly enjoyed and is the first book of the Girlfriend Series. Can't wait for the next book.
